• Day 1 Delve into the authentic flavors of the Portuguese wines and gastronomy.

  After airport formalities (Porto International Airport), you will be collected outside customs, and transferred, by an English-speaking Chauffeur in a Deluxe vehicle Mercedes.

  Enjoy the scenic 2-hour road trip to the Pinhão in the Douro Valley.

  Check-in at “The Casa do Rio” of Quinta de Ventozelo. The accommodation is the result of an intervention carried out some years ago, on a traditional Douro building near the river and the dock. You will have at your disposal the privacy of a cozy Villa with 2 double rooms arranged around a living room with a garden and terrace with unobstructed views to the river. Quinta do Ventozelo is one of the biggest and oldest estates in the heart of the Upper Douro wine region that recently opened its doors to the public. By the terrace, looking at Quinta de Ventozelo and Douro River, food has new flavor! Housed in the former workers’ dining hall, Cantina de Ventozelo with the help of Chef Miguel Castro e Silva combines traditional recipes with new techniques for a menu inspired by the comfort food that used to nourish farmworkers during the olden days, and a more refined dinner menu that can be paired with Ventozelo’s own Douro and port wines.

  You'll be transported to Quinta Nova Nossa Senhora do Carmo, heralded as "One of the 9 must-see wineries in the world" by American Airlines. Nestled in the heart of the Douro region, this extraordinary estate has been under the ownership of the Amorim family since 1999, though its roots trace back to before 1764, with historical records even linking it to the Portuguese Royal Family.

Their journey began in 2001, driven by a shared dream and an unwavering commitment to sourcing exceptional vines in the historic Pinhão valley, the heart of Port wine production, and giving them a voice. Wine & Soul epitomizes modern Douro winemaking, where the unique personality of each vineyard is celebrated. Their wines have garnered international acclaim, showcasing the region's potential for producing exceptional Douro wines.

  During your visit, you'll enjoy a private tour. The highlight of your visit will be lunch at Quinta da Manoella, where you'll have the privilege of dining with Sandra and Jorge, who will share their insights into wine production and the secrets behind their success.

  After lunch, your next stop is Quinta das Carvalhas, the crown jewel of Real Companhia Velha and the largest wine-producing estate in the Douro region. Begin with a visit to the Lamego Castle, a symbol of the town's history and resilience. Dating back to the 13th century, this castle offers panoramic views of the rivers Coura, Balsemão, and Varosa from its towering walls. For a spiritual experience, ascend the grand baroque staircase with its 686 steps to reach the Nossa Senhora dos Remédios Shrine. Designed by Nicolau Nasoni in the mid-18th century, this shrine exudes rococo charm and offers a sanctuary for worshipers. Admire the intricate baroque works that adorn the monument, designed by the same artist who embellished the cathedral ceilings. In Lamego, every corner tells a story, inviting you to delve into its rich cultural heritage and discover the essence of this historic town.

  After your cultural exploration in Lamego, treat yourself to the breathtaking views from Quinta do Bomfim. Situated in the heart of the Alto Douro, this estate has been owned by the Symington family for five generations. As you explore the estate, you'll immerse yourself in its rich heritage by visiting the winery, the picturesque old cellar, and the vineyard. Your tour begins in a charming museum that recounts the estate's history, the legacy of the Symington family, and the story behind their renowned wines. Next, you'll embark on a tour of the vineyards, followed by a visit to the old cellar, a magnificent structure dating back to 1896. This vast cellar, with its intricately designed roof, has preserved the estate's Port wines for over a century before they are transported down the river to Vila Nova de Gaia for further maturation. Concluding your visit, indulge in a tasting of four Premium Vintage Port wines, savoring the complexity and richness of these exceptional vintages. With each sip, you'll experience the culmination of centuries of winemaking tradition and expertise at Quinta do Bomfim.

  Enjoy lunch at Bomfim 1896 Pedro Lemos, a project in collaboration with the famous chef Pedro Lemos. Located by the River Douro, it offers a classic and elegant setting. The dining area is completely open, allowing guests to watch the kitchen in action while enjoying the beautiful views through large glass windows. The highlight here is the wood-burning stove and oven, bringing back the traditional flavors of the old Douro kitchens with a modern twist.

  As an additional option, we highly recommend a visit to the Six Senses activity center, where you can indulge in the art of tile painting. Helene, an accomplished artist who honed her skills in the picturesque town of Óbidos, invites you to discover the traditional Portuguese method of tile painting in a hands-on workshop. This workshop offers not only a chance to learn and practice a time-honored craft, but also the opportunity to create personalized souvenirs to cherish for years to come. Please note that this activity is not included in the price of the tour but is highly recommended for those seeking a memorable and enriching experience.

  Discover Quinta do Seixo. The view from Quinta do Seixo is breathtaking all year round, in a constant change of color and light. A magnificent landscape, shaped by man in terraces and schist terraces, in surprising contrast to the brightness of the River Douro and the sight of the picturesque village of Pinhão, close by. The activity consists of a guided tour of the winery, wine cellar and robotic presses, complemented by multimedia explaining the entire wine production cycle. 

  Your experience at Quinta do Seixo begins with a guided tour to the vineyard, with an explanation of the terroir, biodiversity and winemaking practices. It includes a stop at the Old Vineyard, with more than a century. After the tour, immerse yourself in the splendor of the Douro landscape as you enjoy a regional picnic featuring typical Douro products, expertly paired with Quinta do Seixo wines. This outdoor experience allows you to connect with nature while indulging in the best of regional cuisine and savoring a bottle of fine wine.
