  • Day 2 A Day of Discovery in Lisbon

    Breakfast at the Hotel.

The Chauffeur is waiting for you in the hotel lobby.

You will have a Drive/Walking Tour in Lisbon with a certified private guide.

Next, stroll through the Baixa Pombalina, a beautifully rebuilt district filled with charm and history. If you’re in the mood for some luxury shopping, Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade offers an array of high-end boutiques, including Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, and more.

For those looking for authentic Portuguese treasures, the city’s charming local shops are a must-visit. Explore gems like A Vida Portuguesa, Casa Macário, and Vista Alegre, where the focus is on artisanal, high-quality Portuguese products. Along the way, admire architectural highlights such as the Rua Augusta Arch, the elegant Santa Justa Lift, and the majestic Comércio Square.

No visit to Lisbon is complete without a stop at the historic Café A Brasileira in the Chiado district. And that is how it remains after four decades dedicated to the most authentic Portuguese flavors and gastronomic traditions.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a drive/walking tour in Belém with a certified private guide. Originally, Belém was the location of Lisbon’s shipyards and docks, and from here departed the 15th-century voyages that discovered the sea routes to India, East Africa, and Brazil. This rich seafaring heritage is commemorated in Belém, along with extravagant buildings that were funded by the vast wealth that flowed into Portugal back then. Belém offers outstanding architectural attractions like Torre de Belém, Lisbon’s most famous and photographed monument, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos the greatest example of the Manueline style of architecture and the imposing Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a monument to the 15th-century Portuguese explorers, and its amazing panoramic rooftop viewpoint. The Coach Museum is located in Belém too, and it was an initiative of Queen D. Amélia de Orléans e Bragança, wife of King D. Carlos I (1889-1908), inaugurated it in 1905. It contains an exceptional and unpaired, unique collection of richly adorned royal vehicles.

As the day winds down, your chauffeur will take you back to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the incredible journey through Lisbon’s past and present.
