After intense days, you arrive in Alentejo, the golden capital, where the land kisses the sun. Évora and its Roman heritage are your first stop after lunch, a wonderful location for history buffs and travelers who love to explore beyond the ordinary. If you want a real souvenir of Portugal, this is the place to get it, made with your own hands. There must be 20 potteries in São Pedro do Corval, the best city for potteries in the entire country. Here you will have a 15-minute workshop where you will be able to feel the clay with your hands and make a piece or paint it, in addition to following the entire process while shopping.
On the way to the Douro, stop at Quinta das Lágrimas, an obligatory and remarkable place. Quinta das Lágrimas has in its park a collection of world-class gardens: romantic, Japanese, medieval, aroma garden, an organic vegetable garden, and extensive woods. Arrived in the Douro, breathe, after all, you are in one of the UNESCO demarcated sites.
Sail aboard a private cruise on the River. Stroll through the Douro Valley aboard the Libertu's sailboat, feel the natural flow of this golden snake-shaped river, the Douro River. The meal starts with appetizers normally served in the pool area (designed by the architect Souto Moura, winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2011) a water mirror with breathtaking views.
