The decor of the restaurant looks like entering a family home, on the shelves, there are old photographs, books, and bundles of cards, and on the tables are the bound volumes of "Contada de Monsaraz". Most of the displayed objects came from the family house in Reguengos de Monsaraz, it is simply beautiful.

Located at the spectacular Vila Joya hotel, between the hotel's exclusive swimming pool and almost private beach, amidst the trees where the old Hidden Xiringuito lounge used to be, this restaurant is one of the best in the country and has also been awarded two Michelin stars. The decor is subdued and evocative, with subtle swirls and arches and of course, it has mesmerizing views of the Atlantic Ocean. Led by Chef Dieter Koschina, Vila Joya was awarded its first Michelin star in 1995 and its second (still in effect) in 1999. The Austrian chef's assured approach is based on classic European cooking techniques to Algarvian and Portuguese ingredients, putting a creative spin on every recipe.
