After airport formalities at Porto International Airport, you will be collected outside customs, and transferred, by Deluxe vehicle with English speaking Chauffeur to Six Senses Douro Valley. Located in the beautiful Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Six Senses Douro Valley is touched by the romance of the 19th century architecture and is happily married with the contemporary interiors that reflect the inimitable style of the Six Senses. Positioned as the ultimate wine and SPA experience of the Douro, the Resort assumes its own regional identity.

Delight yourself with the delicacies that the Wine House Hotel has for you, led by the Chef of the Pacheca Wine House. You will have a Traditional Main Cuisine Workshop. With this activity, you are expected to interact with the Chef participating in the preparation of the chosen option, learning or developing you knowledge through gastronomy. Afterwards you can taste the dishes prepared.
After lunch, You will find Quinta da Pacheca Cellar. The Quinta stands out for having been the first to bottle wine under its own brand. The first reference to the Quinta is in a document dated of the 17thApril 1738, where it is called “the Pacheca”. You will have a guided visit to the Vineyards and cellar with a wine tasting of Douro and Port wines.
Next stop will be Quinta do Vallado. The cellar that combines the latest technology with high-quality architecture is one of the highlighted places to visit in the Douro Valley. The 70 ha. (172 ac.) of the Quinta do Vallado vineyards are mostly based on the slopes of schist soil, facing south and west, allowing an optimal maturation of the grapes, profiting from the Mediterranean climate. With 50 ha. (123 ac.) of vines aged between 11 and 18 years and 20 ha. (49 ac.) of the best vines with more than 80 years, Quinta do Vallado and its leaders, João Ferreira Álvares Ribeiro, Francisco Ferreira and Francisco Olazabal, all descendent of Dona Antónia, have reached a very high level, recognized by several national and international entities. You will have a private tour to the Winery and Wine Cellar with a Quinta do Vallado Wines Tasting.
After the wine experience you will enjoy a unique Chef’s Table experience. A very personal journey of food and wine. An open cooking station is complete with a wood-fired oven for bread baking and a Josper Grill. Join a small group at a 10 courses meal that is prepared and hosted by the Chef, right before your eyes. Follow the process and complete the experience with selected accompanying wines. This is the greatest gastronomic option at the Six Senses Douro Valley that is celebrating the region.

The visit to Quinta do Crasto and Quinta Nova is also one of the Highlights of this Tour.
You will discover Quinta do Crasto. Enjoy a traditional and typical regional menu prepared mainly with products from the property. The meal starts with appetizers usually served in the swimming pool area (designed by architect Souto Moura winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2011) a water mirror with breathtaking scenery, accompanying the latest harvest of Crasto. The recipes belong to the family and the dishes are carefully harmonized with the wines served, in order to enhance the wine experience. During the meal three different wines are served and this selection includes, generally, the Quinta do Castro best-sellers Crasto Superior and Reserva Vinhas Velhas. Visit the famous old vineyards, winery and beautiful warehouse barrels, which matured table wines and premium Port wines. One of the biggest recognitions received by this Quinta came in 2008, when the magazine Wine Spectator, an international benchmark in the sector, considered the Quinta do Crasto Reserva Old Vines 2005 from vines with 70 years, the third best wine in the world, giving it a 95 rating in one hundred points.
After this excellent experience you will visit Quinta Nova Luxury Winery House “one of the 9 must-see wineries in the world”, American Airlines. Precisely 250 years ago, the traditional winery Quinta Nova, owned by the Amorim Group, was harvesting their first grapes. This is, undoubtedly, one of the oldest wineries in the Douro region, producing Port wine for the estate and for many other plots of farmers and neighbouring estates, given its large size. You will visit in detail all production of wines, the vineyard, the winery of 1764, the underground wine cellar and end your visit with a Premium tasting of 3 wines in the store: Quinta Nova Grand Reserve, Quinta Nova Grand Reserve Reference and Mirabilis Grand Reserve Red.
For dinner, indulge yourself with the delicacies that Conceitus Winery Restaurant has to offer you. The menu appeals to the senses and emotions, in a relaxed and curious way. The proposals are different every day and guests never know the menu, letting themselves be guided by the inspiration of Chef José Pinto.

You will enjoy a private Douro River Cruise in a sailboat. Douro-à-Vela offers you a new way of discovering Douro, a region of heritage, landscapes and wines that are unique in the world. Aboard the sailing ship Libertu’s live moments of intimacy with the nature while you travel with emotion along the history until the times when the rabelos boats moved by the force of the sails. Feel like a true sailor, an integral part of the vessel in a unique environment. Libertu’s is a 10, 5 meters (34 ft.) Dehler sailing ship with a 14 meters (45 ft.) mast and with a maximum capacity for 12 people and is luxuriously equipped with 2 rooms, lounge area, kitchen and WC.
Your lunch is waiting at DOC Restaurant. Led by Michelin Star Chef Rui Paula, with modern and creative gastronomy, with Douro flavours. It’s a place of enormous beauty, blending the grandeur of the vineyard covered mountains and the serenity of the Douro river and the riverside villages, only awakened by the regular passage of the train. DOC serves as a window on this breathtaking scenery, making every meal a unique and special moment.
After lunch, we will take you to Real Companhia Velha’s crown jewel and the largest wine producing estate in the Douro region, Quinta das Carvalhas. The Vintage Tour is a visit to the Vineyards accompanied by the Quinta das Carvalhas Agricultural Engineer. Join this tour and appreciate a direct contact with nature in the vines, mediterranian forests and gardens, alongside the people who work them. We offer the chance to see the Douro through the eyes of a local and to relish the greatness of the region with a detailed explanation of everything happening at the Quinta. The tour finishes at the wine shop for a tasting of the top Wines of Carvalhas (White, Tinta Francisca, Touriga Nacional & Vinhas Velhas), partnered with a platter of cheeses and finishing with a glass of Port.
Your last visit in the Douro Valley will be at Quinta do Seixo. The wine farm is located in Cima-Corgo, in the heart of the Douro Region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Following the Douro River from Régua to Pinhão, you can easily discover this old Quinta of the 17th century and its cellar of contemporary design. The view from Quinta do Seixo is breathtaking throughout the year, in a constant change of colour and light. A magnificent landscape, shaped by man in shale terraces, a surprising contrast with the brightness of the Douro River and the view of the picturesque village of Pinhão nearby. The vineyard, with over 100 years, is a true heritage of many traditional Douro grape varieties that still resist to the most harsh conditions and temperatures, producing unique and top quality wines. Guided visit to Quinta do Seixo with an extended tasting of 5 Porto or Douro wines, included the much awarded Sandeman Vau Vintage.

By foot, head towards the city of Porto through the Dom Luiz I Bridge and enjoy the amazing views.
Lunch will be at a very cosy restaurant, the Traça Restaurant. A restaurant inspired by traditional cuisine of Iberian influence, with a retro decor based on materials such as iron, wood and tile and using antique pieces and furniture, near the most important Heritage in the city.
After lunch you will meet with the Private Guide who will show you the highlights of the city of Porto, beginning in the historic centre we will take you to the Clérigos Tower, designed and decorated by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, located near Livraria Lello Bookstore, considered by Lonely Planet one of the three most beautiful bookstores in the world. Across Aliados Avenue, you will find São Bento Railway Station, where you can observe its twenty thousand painted tiles, depicting historical landmarks. Continue to Santa Catarina street where is located the shopping district of the city center, the Bolhão Market, one of the oldest and most traditional markets in the city and the Majestic Café, a place where you must stop, visit and taste the famous “rabanada”. After enjoying one of the most beautiful views of the Douro River from Porto Cathedral, you will visit the Stock Exchange Palace of Porto “Palácio da Bolsa”, the building with the most different architectural styles in Porto. Finally you will visit the Church of Saint Francis that is the most prominent Gothic monument in Porto, being also noted for its outstanding Baroque inner decoration. Decorated with exuberant gilt wood work or gold leaf “talha dourada” , this decorative richness covering almost completely the roofs of the aisles, pillars, window frames and chapels and hiding the underlying mediaeval architecture.
Dinner is waiting for you at DOP Restaurant. The restaurant is situated in the Palace of the Arts in the historic city center, classified as World Heritage. This building is full of history. It began as the S. Domingos Convent and remained active since the fourteenth century, as a venue for auctions and council meetings. The concept of the Palace of Arts fits perfectly in the Chef Rui Paula project, who understands the gastronomy field as a creation with a strong cultural component. DOP has been designed to operate as a good taste, space cosmopolitan and yet familiar, and the generator of exciting dining experiences.

Your day will begin by the riverside 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. By foot, you will visit one of the oldest Port Wine Cellar in the world – Ferreira Cellars. Go back to the origins of the Portuguese soul and traditions and discover more about the Dona Antónia, the woman, in the man times, who gave Ferreira its name and prestigious. For small groups, a private visit to the “Hall of Belongings of D. Antonia” and Ferreirinha Museum. Commented wine tasting of five Port Wines Ferreirinha in the “Old Bar”, a tasting room with charateristics of the XIX century.
The second stop is at the award-winner Graham’s Port Lodge, from the Symington family. Graham’s is still a working cellar. No visit to the Lodge will pass without hearing the sounds of the Coopers’ hammers or seeing the lodgemen collecting samples for the tasting room. The building currently houses over 2,000 pipes (oak casks) and 40 tonels and balseiros (large oak vats) of ageing Port wine, as well as extensive cellars of Vintage Port, ageing in bottle. Here you will have a private tasting in a vintage room. You will have a Private Tour and Tasting of Graham’s Six Grapes, 30 Years Old Tawny and Vintage 2000.
Then you will have a different and enriching experience at Calém Cellars. The Calém brand distinguishes itself in the market for the exceptional quality of its wines, consistency and its century-old history. Its cellars have a great reputation in the wine sector and they stand out as a world reference – One of the most visit cellars in the world. The two greatest icons on the Portuguese culture came together to provide you a different and pleasant evening. You will have a guided tour to the Cálem Cellar and to its ancient traditions, followed by a tasting of Port Wine: White and Special Reserve. Enjoy a Fado concert, with a male and a female voice, accompanied on the traditional way by a Portuguese Guitar and a Classic Guitar.
After the wine experiences you will discover a place for tasting, where wines are matched with Portuguese snacks under the guidance of renowned Chef Miguel Castro Silva at Decastro Gaia Restaurant. The gastronomy embraces the concept of innovation, diversification and modernity of Porto Cruz project, challenging visitors to taste new experiences that test the palate in an informal yet stylish ambiance. Enjoy the Sunset with a Port Cocktail in the rooftop and Dinner inside the restaurant.
